About me
Greetings,
I am excited to share my journey with you as I transition into the role of owner of our online school. I hold a doctorate from Claremont Graduate University, completed in Spring 2019, and have 27 years of experience in teaching mathematics. My career has been dedicated to fostering a deep understanding and appreciation for math among students. Throughout my teaching career, I have served as both a college professor and a high school teacher, instructing a wide range of courses, including Calculus (college level and AP, AB/BC), Statistics (college level and AP), as well as Algebra and Geometry. My approach is built on research-based best practices, and I integrate technology such as Zoom, Smart Boards, Sakai, Schoology, and Blackboard to enhance
learning experiences.
I have also been actively involved in professional development, mentoring, and leading national projects like “Everyone Can Do It!” aimed at helping underachieving students succeed in math. I am confident that my enthusiasm and experience can continue to enhance learning for a diverse range of multi-leveled and multicultural students. I am driven to learn, contribute, and collaborate with others. My philosophy centers on motivating students to develop a passion for mathematics and achieve their best while recognizing and embracing their diverse backgrounds. I firmly believe that, with the right support, every student can overcome their challenges and thrive. As I look forward to this new chapter, I am committed to maintaining our focus on academic excellence and student achievement.

My teaching
I believe that mathematics is best understood through hands-on exploration rather than rote memorization. In my teaching approach, I encourage students to uncover concepts on their own rather than simply being taught. Memorized facts can fade, but discoveries made through active learning leave a lasting impact.
